This Instagram account documented one year of solo travel, with the goal of inspiring people aged 18–35 to solo travel. The focus was on meaningful engagement and building a community that could convert followers into clients seeking travel services.

Turning Observations into strategy

Key Observations (first 2-3 months of posting)

  • Content featuring my face / voice drove the strongest engagement

  • Stories / Reels outperformed Stills

  • Highly polished posts underperformed personal / inspirational content

  • More educational posts led to increased travel advice inquiries

These insights led me to prioritize real-time Stories and Reels featuring my face or voice, supported by stills from my solo-backpacking journey. This approach boosted engagement and converted several followers into clients.
